Subtitles timed to the word — from one upload

Drop in a video or a podcast episode. Akoé transcribes it, you correct it once in an editor built for checking, and every subtitle file you export carries those corrections — timed to the word, split into lines that actually read well.

First 5 minutes free. No card, no subscription. After the trial, we charge €5 per hour of audio pro-rated, starting from a €1 minimum charge.

From upload to SRT

Common video and audio formats work as they are — mp4, mov, webm, mp3, wav, m4a and friends. From video we keep only the sound: the video is never kept, and in modern browsers the audio is extracted on your device, so a 2 GB video travels as a few megabytes.

The transcript arrives with a timestamp on every word. The audio plays from the words you're fixing; when it reads right, export SRT or VTT — what you corrected is exactly what exports.

Line breaks matter as much as words: subtitles come split into lines that read well on screen, not arbitrary cuts mid-phrase.

Translated subtitles you can check

Machine translation is a draft, not a result — so translated subtitles open beside the original, line by line, editable, with timings intact. You see exactly what your viewers will read before it ships.

Translations are included in the price, into 28 languages — 22 of the 24 official EU languages among them. Transcribe once, subtitle in several.

And everything around the episode

The same corrected transcript exports as clean text for show notes, Word for scripts and approvals, or CSV with word timings for your own tooling. The mentions index — people, places, organisations, dates — is a ready-made list of what an episode covered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fair questions before your first upload

Can I upload just audio for subtitles?
Yes — subtitles export from any recording, audio or video. SRT and VTT are timed to the word either way.
How are the subtitle lines split?
Automatically, into lines that read well on screen — and because every word is timed, your corrections in the editor carry into the cues exactly.
What do translated subtitles cost?
Translation is included. You pay for transcription — €5 per hour of audio, to the second, exact price shown before you pay — and can then export subtitles in the original and translated languages at no extra charge.
What happens to my video file?
We keep only its audio track; the video is never kept. In modern browsers the sound is extracted on your device before upload, so the footage never even travels to us; if your browser can't, the file is converted on our servers and the original is deleted as soon as the audio is out.
